Kamal Haasan who is also the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam, stated that if the Citizenship Amendment Bill was a step in the right direction then why does the bill turn a blind eye to the Sri Lankan Tamils and Muslims.

Indian 2 actor Kamal Haasan tweeted questioning the exclusion of Sri Lankan Tamils and Muslims in the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The south megastar Kamal Haasan who is also the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam, stated that if the Citizenship Amendment Bill was a step in the right direction then why does the bill turn a blind eye to the Sri Lankan Tamils and Muslims. The Hey Ram actor Kamal Haasan wrote in his tweet that why do Tamils who face a methodic genocide and the Muslims who are facing discrimination not included in the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The south megastar Kamal Haasan also said that if the Citizenship Amendment Bill was a good move then, why doesn't it help the stranded Tamils and the troubled Muslims population of Sri Lanka. As per the latest reports, spiritual guru Ravi Shankar was batting for the inclusion of Sri Lankan refugees who have stayed in the country for more than three decades. As per reports, Lok Sabha has now passed the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill on Monday. Rajya Sabha on Wednesday also cleared the most talked about Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which was piloted by Home Minister Amit Shah.
