A group of meteorologists from China issued an unusual warning about "regional cooling" during last week, when the prevailing climate says the complete opposite, foreign reports said.
Following a regional cooling warning, Northern China may need to brace for harsher winter climate, as the scientists form the Chinese Academy of Sciences carried out extensive studies on weather data in a "500-year climate cycle".
According to Asia Times, the meteorologists have come to conclusion that these provinces should be worried about something contrary to the prevailing concepts of global warming, as in their own words "a sudden cool shift" could be followed.
Wu Jing, lead scientist, who is with the Beijing-based Institute of Geology and Geophysics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is of the view that human impact, in particular greenhouse gas emissions, could have been exaggerated in the context of climate change in northern China.
Wu views that people should be worried about cooling rather than warming.
