Statement by Embassy of Palestine on attacks in Palestinian territories

The Embassy of Palestine on 21st March issued a statement on Israeli Army’s attacks in Palestinian territories.

The Embassy of the State of Palestine presents its compliments to all correspondents of the print and electronic media and has the honor to attach herewith the specially complied Summary of the UN investigation report in the Occupied Palestinian Territories on the atrocities committed by the Israeli Defense Forces in particular during “the Great  March of Return” from March 30th 2018 to 31st December 2018, which as of to date these atrocities have further increased in numbers.

It expressively shows how the Israeli Army’s intentional killings and causing severe anguish to the elderly, the children, civilians with special needs, and the handicapped, who were not posing any threats, of interfering in the confrontation, also journalists, and para medics were systematically targeted with live ammunition and gunned down by the IDF, the Embassy of Palestine said in the statement.

These brutal acts had been seen according to the report and other secret articles as war crimes and crimes against humanity which resulted in the deaths of 189 Palestinians killed, 6013 injured by live ammunition and another 23313 casualties, including intentionally targeting these protected groups (children, civilians with special needs, journalists and para medics).

Taking action against these grave violation committed by Israel is incumbent and not only a legal responsibility and accountability by all states, international law and international organizations but it is also a moral stand for humanity.

The Embassy of the State of Palestine avails itself of this opportunity to renew, to all correspondents of the print and electronic media, the assurances of its highest consideration.
