The abduction of an officer of the Swiss embassy is a black mark in the history of diplomacy in the country and it is a matter of great displeasure for our country internationally, said former Minister Sajith Premadasa.
Mr. Premadasa said that the state's revenge has been raised against a large number of reputed and talented police officers.
He said that several journalists have already been subjected to pressure from the government to represent their freedom of expression and the right to information.
He added in his announcement that it is not fair to criticize the government as soon as it comes to power and that they should give them time to carry out their mandate.
"It is regrettable that the people's mandate given to them is to sabotage the government's promise to safeguard the country, to avenge the economy, to strengthen the economy and raise the world" he added.
Accordingly, the President and the new government should create an independent peaceful country promised to the people of Sri Lanka and also requests the government not to resort to revenge.
