LITRO Gas denied any allegations that their gas cylinders are unsafe. Speaking to a briefing, Director of Sales and Marketing, LITRO Lanka Janaka Pathiratne stated that such accusations are being made by organised groups to embarrass LITRO and to intimidate the public.
Currently, the customers islandwide use nearly 06 million domestic LITRO cylinders and the company manufactures all of its cylinders, as well as imports gas, meeting the international standards, Pathiratne emphasised.
The Company pointed out that when importing gas, the ship containing gas receives a quality report of the ship before it enters the local terminal and thus a separate laboratory test is being conducted by LITRO itself.
The Company denied the speculation that it supplied gas or involved in the repairments of the pipeline near the much-talked-about Race Course. Commenting on the matter, Pathiratne added that the reason for the previous incidents was due to faults in other devices and not in the cylinders or gas themselves.
