Although the teachers and principals have decided to report for duty on the 25th after the end of the strike, the Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin says that the protests will continue.

Accordingly, the teachers' unions have planned to hold a series of protests island-wide at 1.30 pm after reporting for duty on the 25th. Stalin said the move was in protest of the government's failure to address the teachers' demands and the attempts to suppress the teachers' struggle.

The schools that were closed due to the covid epidemic reopened on the 21st but the teachers refused to report for duty. Only a limited number of teachers and principals reported for duty on the 21st and 22nd.
