Five envoys of the European Union are set to visit Sri Lanka next Monday to discuss the GSP Plus tax concession.

The group of delegates is expected to meet and hold discussions with the representatives of the government and the opposition, as well as the trade unions, in identification of whether Sri Lanka will abide by the agreements reached on human rights and international labour conventions affecting the granting of the GSL Plus relief.

The information collected during the visit are expected to be tabled in the European Parliament next year. A final decision on whether the GSP Plus relief will continue to be granted to Sri Lanka will be made thereafter.
