Wanindu, Chameera not allowed to enter IPL

The second phase of the 2021 Season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take place in the UAE. Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera of the Sri Lanka Cricket 20/20 team have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming matches.

This was due to the selection of the ttwo by the Bangalore Royal Challengers team.

However, the SLC has not yet granted its approval to the Sri Lankan players to participate in the IPL.

Mohan De Silva, Secretary of the SLC, stated that players should apply in this regard.

So far, neither Hasaranga nor Chameera has submitted such an application to the SLC.

He further added that no official notification was made to the SLC regarding the players selected to the tournament, emphasising that after informing the selected palayers, they will consider the application upon obtaining approval.

The second phase of the IPL is scheduled to start on September 19, 2021. Upon the IPL's completion, the players are to compete the 20/20 immediately.
