We will not let the government harm Yala National Park: Opposition Leader

The government is preparing to destroy a land of 12,000 acres of Yala Forest, divulged Leader of the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, speaking at a discussion held with the Sri Lanka Tourist Drivers' Collective in the Opposition Leader's Office yesterday (14).
The Opposition Leader stressed that this most environmentally disastrous action must be stopped immediately.
Premadasa emphasised that the protection of Yala National Park, which is recognised as a highly eco-sensitive zone in Sri Lanka, is the responsiblity of all, stressing that Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will be coming forward against any move by the government on the course of Yala.
The Opposition Leader also paid attention to the issues faced by the tourist drivers and promised to intervene in resolving them.
