A special discussion was reportedly held in Temple Trees yesterday (09) on addressing the operation of essential services in any event should the country be designated to an islandwide lockdown.

The discussion was held under the patronage of Basil Rajapaksa, the Chief of Presidential Task Force of Economic Revival and Ending Poverty, and the heads of all institutions providing essential services were called to this meeting, reports said.

The necessary measurements need to be taken in any event should Sri Lanka be designated to a total, or 75%, lockdown amid the Covid prevalence have been addressed in the meeting.

However, unlike the previous occasion, there may not be curfew imposed, should the country be locked down, sources added.
