I spoke of international political forces, not of our political leaders: Cardinal (Video)

Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith made a request from the public to observe silence for two minutes at 8.45 am on April 21, respecting the victims of the Easter Sunday bombing, marking the massacre's two year anniversary.
As the first blast had occurred targeting the Kochchikade Church at 8.45 am on the morning of April 21 two years ago, the Cardinal requested the public to observe the two minute-silence at the same time.
The Catholic churches in the country will be observing the two minute-silence together with all Catholics in the country, the Cardinal went on, thereby requesting those of all religions to do the same.
Meanwhile, April 21 has been declared as a special holiday for all Catholic schools.
Responding to queries raised on his controversial comments involving the Easter Attack on Sunday (18), the Cardinal noted that the 'political ambitions' rather than extremist tendencies surrounding the genocide he spoke of meant the international political forces and do not centre on local political leaders, adding that his sentiment has been misunderstood by certain parties.
