Chief Specialist of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health Dr. Sudath Samaraweera speaking to media this Tuesday (07) stated that Covid clusters could likely to occur at any time.

The risk of spreading the infection could be higher in places where people gather in large numbers and where it is not possible to keep the metre-distance, Dr. Samaraweera pointed out, adding that it is imperative that the public sticks to the health directives.

The specialist team is receiving information about the Sinopharm Vaccine, but further data is being sought in this regard, he added.

After analysing the information, the vaccine may be approved and it will also be approved by the World Health Organisation, Samaraweera further noted.
