Minister of State Dilum Amunugama says that it is questionable whether Wimal Weerawansa and other minority parties are asking President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to enter their third class politics as he is already involved in politics at a higher level than traditional politics.

"Politics is governing the country. His Excellency the President is the first person to rule the country, the first citizen. Then he will rule the country anyway.

But he does not do that third-class politics. So we do not know whether he is being invited to do third-class politics. But I think he is still in politics. He goes from village to village, looks into the problems of the people and provides quick solutions to those problems.

But I do not believe that he would be tempted to leave these parties and invite us to join the traditional lower class politics. Because our idea is that he is a little higher than that, ”he said.

Dilum Amunugama was responding to a question raised at a media briefing in Kandy yesterday (20) regarding the invitation extended to the President by Wimal Weerawansa and other government minority party leaders to enter party politics.
