The body of the cement ship is damaged - No risk of fuel leak

The Navy states that the body of the cement transport ship that was involved in an accident in the East Sea has been damaged. Navy Media Spokesman Capt. Indika De Silva stated that a Navy diving team was deployed to monitor the damage caused to the ship.

A Liberian-flagged M.V Eurosun ship carrying cement from the United Arab Emirates to Trincomalee has crashed 10 km offshore near the "Kuda Ravana Kotuwa" - Little Basses Light house, in a area referred to as Middle Basses.

The Navy Media Spokesman further stated that there is no risk of fuel leakage due to the accident.
