Despite the move of appointing a military personnel as the director general of Sri Lanka Customs to eliminate corruption, the objective has not been met, said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, emphasising that strict measures would have to be taken in future over the failed administration at Sri Lanka Customs, speaking to Discussion with the Village program held in Walallawita, Kalutara yesterday (23).

"The corruption was the biggest challed laid before me when I was elected. For an example, if we think about the Customs, the place where the highest number of allegations of corruption exists. A lot of them are true. I appointed a military personnel as its director general. But this has not been done successfully the way I expected. So, I may as well take strict measures in future. I will set this right, even if I have to throw every Customs officer out," he said.
