The Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga said that it has been decided to extend the visa period from 28 days to three months to facilitate long term tourists.
The Minister made this statement addressing a media briefing on Cabinet decisions today (19).
The Minister said that as the country will be open to tourists from the 21st of this month,parking hotels will be set up across the country for the first 14 days.
After the first 14 days of quarantine, they will be allowed to behave normally in the society, the Minister said.
Ranatunga said that more attention has been paid to long-term tourists visiting the country and steps will be taken to provide them with all the facilities they need.
