The Director General of Health Services has allowed tuition masters to hold their private classes under health guidelines from January 25 onwards. The decision has been confirmed via a communique' of the Health Ministry.
Accordingly, tuition classes outside the Western Province are due to be resumed from January 25, 2021, while those within the Western Province may be halted amid the ongoing pandemic, the DGHS informed.
A circular declaration was issued in this regard on Friday (15), designating a maximum number of 100 students per class or having them at a 50% rate of the number of seats available in a hall.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has requested the tutors to only use the opportunity for GCE Ordinary Levels and GCE Advanced Level classes. Travelling in between districts for the purpose of attending tuition classes will not be allowed under this regulation, the DGHS further informed.
These tuition classes cannot be held in areas designated for isolation and travel restrictions amid the pandemic, the communique' further noted.
