State Minister of Mahaweli Siripala Gamlath says that there is no rice mafia in the country and at present, a kilo of paddy is bought at around 60 rupees and a kilo of Nadu rice is sold at 110 rupees.
Minister Siripala Gamlath made this statement when inquired by journalists in Kandy yesterday (13) regarding a statement made by the Minister of Agriculture that there is a rice mafia.
Minister Siripala Gamlath is also the head of the well known rice business "Nipuna".
