Oxford vaccine to be imported after January 26 - Lalith Weeratunga

It is reported that the 'Oxford AstraZeneca' Kovid immunization vaccine manufactured in India will be launched in India from the 16th. This vaccine is also expected to be purchased by Sri Lanka.

Lalith Weeratunga, Senior Adviser to the President, Chairman of the Committee on Importation of Corona Vaccine, said that the vaccine will be available for purchase at any time after January 26. Accordingly, necessary steps will be taken to purchase the vaccine as soon as possible.

The Government of India has decided to start selling this vaccine manufactured in India to other countries from January 26, the Republic Day of India.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to set up around 4,000 vaccination centers throughout the country.
