All public health inspectors attached to Kalutara and Beruwala MOH divisions have refrained themselves from reporting for duty, reportedly due to authorities' decision on reinstating a medical officer, who had previously been transferred from Beruwala MOH division to another.
The PHIs in protest told media that they will not cease their action until the relevant medical officer is removed from the division.
