Borella, Wellampitiya, Fort, Slave Island to be lifted from isolation tomorrow: Army Commander

Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva made a demonstration on how a number of cities under lockdown will be lifted from the status from 5 am tomorrow (23) and the number of cities where the status will still be maintained. The Army Commander made this explanation speaking to a private television channel this (22) morning. 

Accordingly, the status of isolation will be lifted in Borella, Wellampitiya, Fort and Slave Island police divisions in Colombo District from tomorrow, while the status will be maintained in 13 police divisions, Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bluemandal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Port Area, Aduruppu St, Dam St, Pettah, Keselwatta, Maligawatta, Dematagoda and Maradana. 

Conclusively, only 4 divisions out of 17 under lockdown in Colombo District will be lifted from the status, Army Commander Silva revealed. 

Meanwhile, Wekanda Grama Niladhari Division in Slave Island, Wanathamulla Grama Niladhari Division in Borella will continue their state of isolation, he added. 

The Army Commander also revealed that lockdown will be lifted in Ja Ela and Kadawatha police divisions in Gampaha District, while the status will still be maintained in Negombo, Wattala, Peliyagoda, Kelaniya and Ragama. 

Speaking of yesterday's decisions, Silva added that although Atulugama city and its police division have not been isolated, seven Grama Niladhari Divisions in the area, Bogahawatta, Bamunumulla Muslim area, Kirimanthudawa, Horawala, Atulugama West, and Galahamandiya will be referred to isolation effective immediately.
