106 new infections on Sunday (12). COVID-19 cases surged up to 2617

As of Sunday (12) 106 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 have been identified, raising the total number up to 2617, official records showed. 

Among the new cases were 96 persons who were either from or having ties to Kandakadu Rehab facility. 76 of the positive persons were transferees from Kandakadu to Senapura Rehab facility, according to reports. 

Accordingly, 479 persons who tested positive for the virus have been identified form Kandakadu Centre and its associates. 

The ten remaining cases identified on Sunday include five returnees from Belarus, one returnee from the UAE and two from Iran, health sectors emphasised.

As of the present, 830 returnees from foreign countries have been tested positive from the contagion.
