NGOs will be taken care of after Election, says Prime Minister at Sooriyawewa

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said non-governmental organisations (NGOs) will be taken into a special attention under the new government formed after the General Election. In the occasion, how monies and grants are received to the NGOs from foreign countries and international organisations will be observed, he said, speaking at a propaganda rally held in Sooriyawewa area yesterday (05).

The government should be aware of how currencies are being remitted and spent in non-governmental bodies, he added. 

The government has the responsibility to regulate some of the NGOs, as the foreign funds receive on their behalf are being used against the government and for various conspiracies against the country, the Prime Minister further said.
