Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said a resolution to foster a mechanism by which diplomatic agreements are made through Parliament's approval will be introduced in the future. The Prime Minister made this revelation speaking at a public gathering in Beliatta area.
Should an agreement taken place with a foreign country, all parliamentarians should be aware of it, he said, thereby suggesting that confusions resembling that of MCC Compact will not occur.
Nevertheless, a Parliament supporting the President should be established, Mr. Rajapaksa said, adding that the disadvantage otherwise would also be on the people.
