The number of persons tested positive for COVID-19 has reached up to 2054.
As of yesterday (01), seven new cases were found and all of them were returnees from foreign countries.
Among them were four returnees from Bangladesh, one returnee from the UK, and two, UAE.
According to government statistics, 763 returnees so far have been identified to have contracted the virus.
Relaxing defences against the outbreak upon control has surged a second wave of Coronavirus in many parts of the world, for which case the head of the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry Mr. Sudath Samaraweera stressed that it is imperative that the health directives are followed to the letter.
In order to prevent the second wave from being ever occurred in Sri Lanka, the public should stick to their healthy lifestyles, he added.
