The rupee has further depreciated against the US dollar. According to the Central Bank's latest exchange rate chart, the US dollar sales price is Rs 199.40.
Purchasing of a dollar has increased to 193.35 rupees. Meanwhile, the Indicative US Dollar SPOT exchange rate of the US dollar today is Rs. 194.80.
On March 30 this year, the Sri Lankan rupee depreciated 4.7% against the US dollar.
This downturn will have a major impact on the economy of the country. This is because exports comprise a large proportion of imports.
