The opposition leader made this statement in parliament today (19).
The Opposition Leader pointed out that while such crimes are decreasing year by year, but the number of rape and child abuse is again on the rise. Sajith Premadasa says that a specific national program should be formulated to control this situation.
The Opposition Leader further points out that these figures show that the incumbent government has failed to ensure the safety of the people, especially women and the future generation, and making national security and public safety a top priority.
