Although the President, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet is one sided, the Parliament's majority stands with Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, thereby hindering the process to implement the solutions provided by the President's manifesto.
This observation has been made by Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma speaking at a press briefing held in the SLPP headquarters yesterday (13).
"It is true that the President, the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the State Ministers belong to us. But the Parliament belongs to Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe.
We have only 89 members of parliament representing our side. 136 of them oppose to our governance. Therefore, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is being hindered from speedily implementing his Vision for Prosperity.
There are issues in passing a financial bill, and a comprehensive estimation in Parliament," he said.
