The British Tamil Conservatives has issued a press release expressing views on the general election held in the United Kingdom.
In the wake of the election results, the British Tamil Conservatives in their statement point out that it is time to refocus on their community objectives.
Below is the full statement:
The 2019 general election was hard fought and the most significant election in recent times. It was also an election in which there was increased engagement by the British Tamil community with lively debates and discussions. Just as the community was more engaged, the major parties also engaged the community in a "never before" way.
Irrespective of the scale of the Conservative victory in Thursday's elections, it is not a time to be triumphant. It is time to refocus on our community objectives.
We deliver the best results for our community when we work on a cross party basis. Let's put the campaign behind us, come together and make sure all political parties stand by their campaign pledges and deliver the best possible outcome for our community.
British Tamil Conservatives (BTC) for its part, will continue to fight for justice and achieving Tamil aspirations.
