Any change on the content in the Sri Lanka Nidahas Podujana Sandhana agreement may be made only after a discussion, SLFP former general secretary Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said.
The former SLFP secretary made this observation speaking to a press conference held in Kandy.
The Sri Lanka Nidahas Podujana Sandhana was built together by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and seventeen other stakeholder parties.
The agreement signed between them may be following certain changes in the future, given the recent conversation emerged in the midst of an upcoming general election.
As the SLPP strongly views that the lotus bus aka Pohottuwa symbol as the most famous election symbol among the public should proceed for the elections, the SLFP, who viewed a very different opinion about it, had to agree. The SLFP thereafter joined Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa without conditions.
However, the debate on the election symbol has emerged again, whilst the SLFP is still seeking a common symbol.
