Attempt to bring illegal substance behind banning the Customs scanner? (VIDEO)

There is suspicion as to whether the operation of the standard container scanner of the Customs has been halted to import illegal substance (heroin, ethanol) to Sri Lanka, MP Prof. Ashu Marasinghe said.
The MP made this observation speaking to press conference held in Sirikotha UNP Headquarters today (10).
These standard scanner is capable of scanning everything contained in a container, the MP said.
Even the Atomic Energy Authority had inspected this scanner and certified that there were no radioactive substances, he revealed, thereby pointing out that there is a serious suspicion regarding the suspension of such a standard machine by the new Minister.
On the other hand, not using the machine has cost a daily lost of around Rs. 27 lakhs, he further disclosed.
