Hong Kong’s Legislative Session adjourned amid heckling posed by pro-democracy lawmakers

The legislative session of Hong Kong chambers scheduled for today (17) has been adjourned due to endless heckling posed by pro-democracy lawmakers against leader Carrie Lam, foreign reports said.

In the midst of protests and escalating violence demanding democracy launched in Hong Kong for over four months, Leader Carrie Lam is set to unveil the Annual Policy Address, aimed at reviving land and building policies that are a burning issue in the city. Referring to the violence, she had said her administration was prepared to take whatever measures could be taken to stop the crackdown.

However, due to the influence of pro-democracy lawmakers in the Chinese-ruled city, Lam could not hold a legislative session in parliament, so was forced to release via a video.
