Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith's comments criticising former President Maithripala Sirisena over the Easter Sunday Massacre could be diverting attention from the search for the actual bombers, emphasised Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara, Secretary General of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), speaking to reporters after attending the Party's executive committee meeting yesterday (05).

"It was not Mr. Maithripala Sirisena who launched the bombing was he? We should be finding those who launched the bombing. I think these have divert the attention from finding the actual bomber," Jayasekara said.

He added: "There was not just a President in that government. There were the Prime Minister and ministers. But sparing them all, grabbing Mr. Maithripala alone could be against our plan to develop Sri Lanka Freedom Party. There could largely be politically affiliated."
