Udith Lokunandara, SLPP contestant and private secretary of Mahinda Rajapaksa, emphasised that although the SLPP needs the SLFP's votes to gain the two-thirds in Parliament, SFLP contestants should be defeated in the 2020 Polls.
"We need their votes.. everyone of them.. but my boy.. no preferences.. okay? We need a Podujana Peramuna a Pohottu government, right?
We need the Two-thirds, but do not send them to Parliament.. okay? Do we vote them? Are we crazy enough to vote for those who had whiskey in the bunglows belonging to the government, when Mr. Mahinda's children were sent to prison, when we the Podujana Peramuna were attacked, when our men were arrested, when revenge was taken from us? No!
We will be making a pure Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, a Nelum Pohottuwa, our own government. It will be a government with a two-thirds power. This would be the message. There are people who did not leave us. Say, one by one from them manage to enter, maybe 25 wouuld," he said, speaking to a public rally held by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
