A voice recording implying President Maithripala Sirisena verbally assaulting a receiver over phone is being circulated on social media viral.

The recording is said to be a conspiracy carefully planned for tearing down the Maithri - Sajith coalition upon the upcoming polls, sources said.

The voice recording was uploaded into Facebook by a doppelgänger account resembling the official SPG Media Network belonging to Sajith Premadasa.

The fake account has been created by using the Facebook picture of the Sajith Faction featuring the slogan "Api UNP", to imply that this was the work of Sajith Premadasa.

However, the page has only 168 Likes, and therefore in fact is fake.

The voice recording implying President Sirisena's voice is also being circulated on WhatsApp as well.

However, it is no secret that the President and Sajith Premadasa are very close and the two are looking for an alliance soon upon the upcoming presidential polls.

The leaked voice tape accordingly is part of a conspiracy committed by another political group against Sajith Premadasa and President Maithripala Sirisena, sources further claimed.
