Taking a no nonsense stance, the Administration of Sri Lanka Cricket issued letters of transfer to four of its staff with immediate effect.
It is alleged that these members of the minor staff have been in breach of the confidentiality clause of their contracts for personal benefit and an inquiry into this alleged malpractice is currently being investigated.
Long standing employee Chanaka Silva, a Media Assistant who has been employed by Sri Lanka Cricket for the past 19 years has been transferred to Surrey Village and will resume duties in the capacity of Assistant Venue Coordinator, while two Clerical Staff Keerthisiri and, Chandima and driver Pradeepa were issued with letters earlier today transferring them to Sri Lanka Cricket’s High Performance Center at the Khettarama Stadium.
Interestingly in 2018 Chanaka Silva was earlier issued a letter of transfer for a similar offence. However it was the former Minister of Sports Faizer Mustapha who intervened on his behalf and had requested Kamal Padmasiri the Competent Authority running the affairs of SLC then to have him reinstated.
